Blue/grey Delastone adds character and distinction to any building. The subtle, natural colour is pleasing to the eye and complements any architectural style.

This versatile building material is easily trimmed to size and shape on site by unskilled labour using a 4" bolster chisel and a lump hammer. Please ask for a demonstration if you visit the quarry.

The applications of Delastone are endless, being limited only by the designer's imagination: wall facings, chimneys, barbecues, garages, pillars, garden walls and steps are just some of the ways in which Delastone has been used.

Delastone is sawn from slate block extracted from deep in the quarry so it shares the same impressive wear resistance and weathering characteristics as the world famous Delabole Roofing Slate. Its excellent compressive strength (which is equivalent to a grade A Engineering Brick) makes it suitable for structural and decorative building elements alike.

Delastone calls for less maintenance than most other construction materials. The stone is non-porous and the relatively smooth sawn face gives little encouragement to the development of detrimental organic growth.
