PRODUCT INFORMATION: Natural Building Stone & Walling Stone

GENERAL
Slate from the Delabole Quarry is universally acknowledged for its outstanding quality. Delabole Slate is hard-wearing, non combustible, resistant to sulphuric acid, atmospheric pollution, normal heat and temperature changes.

WEATHER RESISTANCE
Delabole Slate is practically impermeable to water, having an average absorption value of less than 0.1% by weight. The slate does not delaminate or flake when subjected to soaking and drying cycles. These properties make Delabole building & walling stone ideal for external walls and weather curtains.


PRODUCTS AVAILABLE - You have a choice of three finishes...

Blue/Grey Sawn Faced... Light Blue/Grey in colour and sawn on both faces to a standard bed size of 100mm (4"). Other bed sizes can be made to order. Random face height and length. No cut ends.

Blue/Grey Quarry Faced... Predominantly Dark Blue/Grey in colour, with attractive natural variations from sparkly quartz to autumnal brown tinges. "Quarry Face" is made by sawing the natural joint faces from stone extracted deep down in the quarry. It has a natural face, just as it comes from the quarry, with a sawn back and bed size as above. Random face height and length. Some natural and some cut ends.

Rustic... Predominantly autumnal shades of brown in colour with attractive natural variations from sparkly quartz to dark blue/grey. Rustic is made from the natural joint faces that have been stained over the centuries by other elements and minerals such as Iron and Manganese. It has a natural face, just as it comes from the quarry, with a sawn back and bed size as above. Random face height and length. Some natural and some cut ends.


BED SIZE
All stone is normally cut to 100mm (4") on bed. However, we can cut stone to any bed-size over 100mm (4") to suit your project.


ADDITIONAL OPTIONS
Quoins
Stone sawn one end roughly square for corners and edges.

Double Quoins
Stone sawn both ends roughly square for soldier courses or building more uniform walls.

Special Projects
Stone can be sawn, split or cropped to rough sizes at extra charge.


COVER
1 tonne of 4” bed stone covers approximately 4.8 sq. yards or 4 sq. metres of wall face.
